Check Your Credit Report Now

You should obtain a credit report once or twice a year. Credit reports are available from:

     • Equifax (1-800-685-1111)
     • TransUnion (1-800-916-8800)
     • Experian (1-888-397-3742)
     

If you find anything strange in your report, tell the credit bureau and bring it to the attention of the creditor. If you live in Maryland, you can obtain a free credit report annually, but even if you have to pay, it’s usually under $10 — a small price to pay for peace of mind.
